Samsung Wallet Adds USDC Remittances With Solana Support

Quick Take
Samsung is putting zero-fee USDC transfers in front of 82 million Galaxy users, with Solana among the rails moving the money.
Solana just landed in the pockets of tens of millions of everyday phone users. Samsung is rolling out zero-fee cross-border remittances powered by USDC inside Samsung Wallet, and Solana is one of the blockchains doing the heavy lifting alongside Sui.
The feature hits 82 million Galaxy devices in the US starting the last week of October. Users will be able to send USDC to crypto wallets or straight to bank accounts in more than 60 countries, with recipients able to cash out in local currency without ever touching a crypto wallet. Coinbase handles custody through Coinbase Prime Vault, Bastion supplies the regulated stablecoin infrastructure, and transfers require biometric authentication.
Solana Foundation president Lily Liu framed it as more proof that stablecoins have shown blockchains are extremely efficient at moving money. Samsung pitched it in consumer terms: sending cash abroad should feel as easy as using the wallet already on your phone.
The market shrugged in the short term, with SOL trading down around 3% when the news broke. But the long game is what matters. Distribution has always been crypto's bottleneck, and a native integration on one of the world's biggest phone platforms is the kind of on-ramp that quietly brings new users onto Solana rails. More users with funded wallets is never bad news for the broader Solana ecosystem — meme coins included.
